This is probably for upstream:

I use my left Win95-Keys as Super_L and have that on mod4:

mod4        Super_L (0x73)

and use that for windowmanager (WindowMaker) functions:

  PrevWorkspaceKey = "Mod4+Left";

The gtk-menus ignore the modifier and process the events themself.
Most other toolkits don't do that.
