A few other epic4 scripts I have used have a command that takes the 
current channel topic and puts it into the command minibuffer for editing, 
usually called /toped or /tt (type topic) or something similar.

splitfire implements it something like this:

alias tt ^assign ttopic 1;topic $C
on ^332 "*" {
  if (ttopic==1) { xtype ^U;xtype -l /t $2-;assign -ttopic }
  wecho $1 Topic: $2-
}

It would be nice if hienoa could have a similar feature.
