Is there any reason why mail sent to -submitter should not be copied to
debian-bugs-dist? I often read through debian-bugs-dist and try to help out
with bugs if the maintainer hasn't responded yet or needs assistance.
Sometimes, the maintainer will send a response to -submitter, and so it will
appear (from the thread on debian-bugs-dist) that there has been no activity.
It would be nice to have this information on the mailing list, to avoid having
to use a browser every time in order to check the status of a bug.

Hrm, yes, I would agree. Thanks for the help. Until this misfeature of
debbugs is corrected, it's a good idea to check the bug logs on the web, as
I use -submitter addresses quite frequently.

This particular feature request/bug is fairly trivial to add/fix, but
since it is such a long standing bug, some people may have been
expecting the behavior it gives... so I'm not quite sure if it should
really be fixed or not.
The patch is to change
