Thanks. I just heared that from the upstream author too :)

Maybe someday gtk will be that powerful, so I'll make a wishlist of this
bug :) Or is that unnecessary?

I suppose that it could be a wishlist bug, but I doubt that GTK will
ever support this. GTK is multiplatform (X, framebuffer, Win32,
BeOS...) and most of those platforms do not support multiple
"displays" that you can connect to at will like X. Implementing
something like this in a platform-neutral manner would be very
difficult.
