Yeah, sorry for the misstatement. Well, the obvious solution is to use /etc/alternatives for the top-level index of the manual, and then have only one entry in the directory. (You don't need to alternatives-ify everything.) Another would be to to separate out the gnus that's in emacs itself into a separate package which would conflict; Mark Eichin might be perfectly happy with that. We need a policy for this, perhaps involving a versioned info subdir per emacs flavour, and massive use of alternatives. 74463 is labeled a wishlist since this is not a feature that has ever been supprted by Gnus; but it is now supported in an as yet unreleased version version of gnus (and that shall fix 74434 as well). manoj -- It's all right letting yourself go as long as you can let yourself back.
