Hi
I've been having some problems with cvs lately
After some playing with source code I've discovered that problem
was with missing Emptydir directory in CVSROOT which has been
read-only for non root user.
So basically CVS could not create Emptydir there.
It would be perfect if I would get a much more meaningfull message
about this problem from CVS server instead of this message:
--
cannot create_adm_p /tmp/cvs-serv939/phtextur
Permission denied
--
From this message text I had no idea if the problem is with server
or with my client and only playing with source helped me.
(I assume that fprintf(stderr,.. in create_adm_p
if (CVS_MKDIR (empty, 0777) < 0) would do the trick temporarily
however more sofisticated solution would be perfect)
bye

Dear CVS user,
Thanks for your interest in CVS and the bug report you have contributed [1].
Debian's cvs package has ~120 old bugs, most of them are couple of years old.
As part of a bug triage I'm doing for several packages, I would like your help
with verifying your bug is still relevant or getting your approval for closing
it.
The current cvs version in Debian is 1.12.13-8 (shared by stable, testing and
unstable).
Feel free to contact me for questions or if you need help.
