Subject: Windowmaker
I have this really strange problem with windowmaker.. Just recently
windowmaker started having problems when I would try and change windows..
I figured "Eh, its messed up, I'll restart it" - I go to the restart
option.. restarts and all of the things on my dock and clip are gone,
background gone, all my settings gone..
Im thinking 'Shit! My config files got nuked!' I take a look, they are all
there.. So I think, 'Well maybe one of them is messed, and its screwing
them all up' so I had a back up I made of my settings from like 5 months
ago.. Tossed those config files in because I know they work.. Still
nothing..
Then I remembered I copied over my GNUstep directory as root a while
back.. Su root, and windowmaker comes up fine and dandy.. So I copy over
my GNUstep directory again as root.. Now both 'dennis' and 'root' are
using the same files.. Works for root, and not dennis...
Any ideas anyone?

What I hear is a permissions problem. Gods but I was there after replacing RH
with Potato... I didn't own ~/GNUstep any more and WindowMaker didn't work
correctly, to say the least.
I'd bet that root owns everything now, and you have no access.

Hi,
I'm taking over wmaker and fixing bugs. Regarding:
http://bugs.debian.org/57229
I really don't understand what the report is about. If someone wants
it fixed, he's going to have to provide more details (for example, who
owns the files? ~/GNUstep? ~/GNUstep/Defaults? ~/GNUstep/Defaults/*?
What are the permissions on those files? wmaker needs write access to
~/GNUstep/Defaults/WMState as a minimum.
Thanks,
