Seems strange to me. Yes, I have jka-compr loaded. However, IIRC, you fixed the "gunzip-on-load" in VM itself, right ? I don't really see why one would be vm's responsability, and not the other... Do you think it's a jka-compr bug, then ? The answer, probably, would be not to load jka-compr, or to turn it off in some way in VM. jka-compr is doing its job -- it sees a file name *.gz, notices the data is not compressed, and proceeds to compress it as it has been asked to. As I'm not so sure, I think these issues should be investigated further. Here they are: * when saving from vm a gzipped attachment file, the gzipped data is re-gzipped without adding an additionnal .gz suffix - this one should be a bug jka-compr, which should probably check by magic-number. * when attaching a gzipped file from a vm-mail buffer, jka-compr un-gzip's it, but vm still thinks it is compressed. I don't really know where this one should be fixed, although Manoj thinks it's in jka-compr. This particular point is well stated. However, that won't solve the problem of vm-mail composer getting un-gzip'ed data when expecting gzip'ed data.
