I would be nice if cron would expand $HOME properly in a PATH=
statement within a crontab.
This crontab:
PATH=$HOME/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin
* * * * * echo $PATH
results in this mail:
$HOME/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin
However I would have expected
/home/admin/ftpadmin/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin
Regards,
Joey

I was just about to post this bug but Martin beat me to it.
This can and should be generalized to evaluating any variable on the
right-hand side. I would also like to use the following for BSD
compatibility:
USER=$LOGNAME
In the meantime, I have to hard-code $HOME in my PATH and $LOGNAME in my
USER environment variables.
