First, I love apt. Simply wonderful stuff. Second, it sure would be nice to give a command line such as the following: "apt-get -u upgrade install foo bar baz" and conditionally upgrade all packages, and install the packages foo, bar, and baz. Rationale: sometimes packages won't upgrade due to dependencies. Allowing this would allow all packages to be upgraded in one go, plus whatever needed to be done for the foo, bar, and baz packages.
