My wife discovered that if she accidentally selects an MP3 file in the
"Load playlist" dialog, XMMS will happily try to load the file. It
would be nice if XMMS were clever enough to realize that a
multi-megabyte, binary file isn't suitable for use as a playlist.
This is probably an upstream bug report.

X-Mailer: bug 3.2.6
Package: xmms
Version: 0.9.5.1-2
Severity: normal
My wife discovered that if she accidentally selects an MP3 file in the
"Load playlist" dialog, XMMS will happily try to load the file. It
would be nice if XMMS were clever enough to realize that a
multi-megabyte, binary file isn't suitable for use as a playlist.
This is probably an upstream bug report.

Package: xmms
Version: 1.2.4-4
Severity: wishlist
A friend of mine, not recognising the buttons on the (somewhat obscure
=) skin I have, loaded an MP3 through the playlist menu. The resulting
flurry of entering random binary data into the playlist took minutes to
complete. It could usefully look at the file and try and decide if it is
a playlist before loading it all in.

Rob

Package: xmms
Version: 1.2.4-4
Severity: wishlist
A friend of mine, not recognising the buttons on the (somewhat obscure
=) skin I have, loaded an MP3 through the playlist menu. The resulting
flurry of entering random binary data into the playlist took minutes to
complete. It could usefully look at the file and try and decide if it is
a playlist before loading it all in.

Rob
