Version: 4.0.2-1
Severity: wishlist
This may be a stupid bug, but I must complain. It seems the X
server lowercases all font-names. I.e. "Times New Roman" becomes
"times new roman"
(-monotype-times new roman-medium-r-normal-*-*-90-*-*-p-*-iso8859-15).
This happens even if the font names in the fonts.dir file are correct
(-monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-15)
I don't know if this is because the protocol/API forces it to be
lowercase, but it is still annoying...

Subject: xserver-xfree86: should not lowercase font names
To: submit@bugs.debian.org
X-Mailer: bug 3.3.7
Message-Id:
Date: Sun, 11 Feb 2001 20:35:10 +0100
Delivered-To: submit@bugs.debian.org
Package: xserver-xfree86
Version: 4.0.2-1
Severity: wishlist
This may be a stupid bug, but I must complain. It seems the X
server lowercases all font-names. I.e. "Times New Roman" becomes
"times new roman"
(-monotype-times new roman-medium-r-normal-*-*-90-*-*-p-*-iso8859-15).
This happens even if the font names in the fonts.dir file are correct
(-monotype-Times New Roman-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-15)
I don't know if this is because the protocol/API forces it to be
lowercase, but it is still annoying...
