This is just rather annoying.

Hello,
I would like to know whether there is any hidden upstream activity on
this bug. Because nothing seems to have happened since years, and the
problem is still present. It appears to be similar to
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=30486 -- in most cases,
DPMS does work automaticaly (configured with xset on the Xserver). Or I
can use -dpmsstandby, -dpmssuspend, -dpmsoff. However, as soon as
"-mode blank" is used, the game is over. I need to specify -enablesaver,
then it works with all animation modules including blank.
IMO xlock somehow blocks the DPMS functionality of the X server (but,
again, only with blank and not with the other modules). I get lots of
(**) RADEON(0): RADEONSaveScreen(2)
(**) RADEON(0): RADEONSaveScreen(2)
messages in my Xorg.0.log when that happens, and the monitor is not
turned off.
Eduard.
