It'd be nice if the 'archive=no' bug list for a package had a link to
the 'archive=yes' version ("older closed bugs" or something). It
wasn't obvious to me that the archive existed until I read some old
DWN issues and then looked at the main bugs page more carefully. (For
symmetry I suppose the archive page for a package should link to the
current one, too.)

Looking up the archived bug reports of a package is harder than it
should be. And there's already some text on the page that could be
turned into a hyperlink to the archived page.
Why this bug has sat unfixed for three years when it looks like a 5
minute fix, I don't know.

I did try a little while ago; believe it or not it seemed moderately
tricky to fix all the *url() functions. I'll have another go soon.

There's links now. It's only available for pkg= urls, though, so we'll
leave this bug open for the moment. OTOH, since it doesn't work for src=,
maint=, etc urls, this is now a proper bug, rather than just a wishlist.
Ooops. :)
(Well, arguably anyway)

The body of #213827 seems to be complaining specifically about the
per-submitter reports (and this complaint is still valid), but I think
that does fall under the remit of #53710.
The situation has improved somewhat since I reported #53710 in 1999 --
the bug reports pages for individual binary packages (e.g.,
)
do now contain a link to the archived reports (and vice versa).
However, many other reports don't; the one I run into most often is
the reports for source packages
(e.g., ).
It's a pain to have to go through to each binary package in turn to
look at archived bugs, and in this case slapping a "&archive=yes" on
the end manually seems to do The Right Thing.
I think this bug should remain open until all reports of active bugs
that can sensibly do so consistently contain links to archived
reports (and vice versa).

> I believe these two bugs are the same. Could you both confirm that

The body of #213827 seems to be complaining specifically about the
per-submitter reports (and this complaint is still valid), but I think
that does fall under the remit of #53710.
The situation has improved somewhat since I reported #53710 in 1999 --
the bug reports pages for individual binary packages (e.g.,
)
do now contain a link to the archived reports (and vice versa).
Bug reassigned from package `bugs.debian.org' to `debbugs'.
