Was this the D'ni Script font bug? Bugs.debian.org is down right now so
I can't check. If so, I'm experiencing far worse problems. I'm trying
to use kword to check the font spacing, but the X server dies with a
segfault whenever I display something in the font. I've filed a
separate bug about this.

The D'ni Script font has a "default" character that's supposed to
replace any character not otherwise mapped. It also has Unicode
mappings for Mac compatibility. Does xfstt send 65,000 copies of this
"default" character to the X server when the font is loaded? That might
explain my X server crashes.

The D'ni Script font has a "default" character that's supposed to
replace any character not otherwise mapped. It also has Unicode
mappings for Mac compatibility. Does xfstt send 65,000 copies of this
"default" character to the X server when the font is loaded? That might
explain my X server crashes.

I tried xfstt --sync, but this didn't help. I really can't determine
whether this bug still applies until #82992 and friends are fixed.
