To: submit@bugs.debian.org X-Mailer: bug 3.2.10 Message-Id: Date: Fri, 13 Oct 2000 14:10:56 +0200 Delivered-To: submit@bugs.debian.org Package: auctex Version: 9.9p-13 Severity: normal Hello, the auctex package steadfastly refuses to install when emacs19, emacs20 or mule2 isn't there. I could not even get it installed by overriding dependencies in dselect with 'Q'. However, I want to use auctex with XEmacs. Contrary to what the docs say, XEmacs does benefit from auctex: When auctex is installed and you made auctex the default (La)TeX mode, then viewing a LaTeX document will result in two additional menu bar entries, "Command" and "LaTeX". AFAICT, the solution appears to be either to make auctex "or-depend" on xemacs, or to include the auctex menus in xemacs, or to split them out to some kind of "auctex-common" package. BTW, I cannot install both emacs and xemacs due to lack of disc space. Cheers, Richard
