To: debian-bugs@pixar.com Date: Thu, 13 Jul 1995 22:28:55 +0200 (MET DST) From: "Peter Tobias" Reply-To: tobias@et-inf.fho-emden.de X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4 PL23] Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Content-Length: 962 Package: info Version: 3.6-1 "M-x man" does only work for catpages. If the catpage for the manual page does not exist the info command will create the catpage but won't show it. If you try it again it'll work because the catpage exist. BTW: If the PAGER environment variable is used, the info command sometimes prints something like "read error (press RETURN)" and it doesn't work either (but creates a catpage). BTW: "info --version" says "GNU Info, Version 2.14" but the package uses the version number 3.6 (from texinfo). Since "info" is the only program in the package it should probably have the version number 2.14 and not 3.6. Peter PS: It seems that the FSF also forgot to update info-stnd.info.gz file. -- Peter Tobias EMail: Fachhochschule Ostfriesland tobias@et-inf.fho-emden.de Fachbereich Elektrotechnik und Informatik tobias@perseus.fho-emden.de Constantiaplatz 4, 26723 Emden, Germany
