The code I didn't at first understand was where they had put some low level IO in for the keyboard instead of using getc(). This they had done because the buffering stopped it from working well with select(), but it caused a number of other problems. I've gone back to getc() but turned off buffering with setvbuf(). The one problem remaining with this that I know of is that you can't use cursor keys immediately after an isearch. Because escape is the cancel isearch key, it won't put it back when it receives it during an isearch, and escape is of course what cursor keys are prefixed with. I can't think of a good way round this apart from changing the key, which would not be a good idea. diff -ur /mounts/unix-support/1/gnu/texinfo-3.9/info/infomap.c texinfo/info/infomap.c - --- /mounts/unix-support/1/gnu/texinfo-3.9/info/infomap.c Fri Jan 26 16:44:00 1996 +++ texinfo/info/infomap.c Wed Feb 26 22:03:37 1997 @@ -264,6 +264,54 @@ map['o'].function = info_next_window; map['t'].function = info_tile_windows; map['w'].function = info_toggle_wrap; + + /* Bind ANSI function keys */ + for (map = echo_area_keymap; + map; + map = map == echo_area_keymap ? info_keymap : 0) { + ((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['A'] = + map[Control ('p')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['B'] = + map[Control ('n')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['C'] = + map[Control ('f')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['D'] = + map[Control ('b')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['H'] = + map[('b')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['1'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['1'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['1'].function)['~'] = + map['b']; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['3'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['3'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['3'].function)['~'] = + map[DEL]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['4'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['4'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['4'].function)['~'] = + map['e']; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['5'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['5'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['5'].function)['~'] = + map[DEL]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['6'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['6'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['6'].function)['~'] = + map[SPC]; + map[ESC+0x80] = ((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['[']; + + /* Linux has C-\ on PrintScreen key */ + map[Control ('\\')].function = info_print_node; + } } /* Strings which represent the sequence of characters that the arrow keys diff -ur /mounts/unix-support/1/gnu/texinfo-3.9/info/session.c texinfo/info/session.c - --- /mounts/unix-support/1/gnu/texinfo-3.9/info/session.c Fri Jul 19 15:56:01 1996 +++ texinfo/info/session.c Wed Feb 26 23:20:59 1997 @@ -294,6 +294,8 @@ if (!info_input_stream) info_input_stream = stdin; + setvbuf( info_input_stream, NULL, _IONBF, 0 ) ; + info_windows_initialized_p = 1; } @@ -3837,10 +3839,11 @@ /* If there isn't any input currently available, then wait a moment looking for input. I can't think of a good way round this apart from changing the key, which would not be a good idea. diff -ur /mounts/unix-support/1/gnu/texinfo-3.9/info/infomap.c texinfo/info/infomap.c - --- /mounts/unix-support/1/gnu/texinfo-3.9/info/infomap.c Fri Jan 26 16:44:00 1996 +++ texinfo/info/infomap.c Wed Feb 26 22:03:37 1997 @@ -264,6 +264,54 @@ map['o'].function = info_next_window; map['t'].function = info_tile_windows; map['w'].function = info_toggle_wrap; + + /* Bind ANSI function keys */ + for (map = echo_area_keymap; + map; + map = map == echo_area_keymap ? info_keymap : 0) { + ((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['A'] = + map[Control ('p')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['B'] = + map[Control ('n')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['C'] = + map[Control ('f')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['D'] = + map[Control ('b')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['H'] = + map[('b')]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['1'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['1'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['1'].function)['~'] = + map['b']; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['3'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['3'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['3'].function)['~'] = + map[DEL]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['4'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['4'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['4'].function)['~'] = + map['e']; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['5'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['5'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['5'].function)['~'] = + map[DEL]; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['6'].type = ISKMAP; + ((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['6'].function = + (VFunction *) keymap_make_keymap(); + ((Keymap)((Keymap)((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['['].function)['6'].function)['~'] = + map[SPC]; + map[ESC+0x80] = ((Keymap)map[ESC].function)['[']; + + /* Linux has C-\ on PrintScreen key */ + map[Control ('\\')].function = info_print_node; + } } /* Strings which represent the sequence of characters that the arrow keys diff -ur /mounts/unix-support/1/gnu/texinfo-3.9/info/session.c texinfo/info/session.c - --- /mounts/unix-support/1/gnu/texinfo-3.9/info/session.c Fri Jul 19 15:56:01 1996 +++ texinfo/info/session.c Wed Feb 26 23:20:59 1997 @@ -294,6 +294,8 @@ if (!info_input_stream) info_input_stream = stdin; + setvbuf( info_input_stream, NULL, _IONBF, 0 ) ; + info_windows_initialized_p = 1; } @@ -3837,10 +3839,11 @@ /* If there isn't any input currently available, then wait a moment looking for input.
