Can you provide more info (e.g. gdb backtrace)? The kernel version indicates that you run this on a customized Debian system. Please check that your local changes didn't cause the problem. I just tested with xaw95 and xaw3d, this doesn't cause the problem here. From the backtrace it might be an libxpm problem? What's your version of libxpm?
