Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Package: nis Version: 2.20-1 Running 'make' to update the NIS maps in /var/yp works fine under nis-2.10-1, however, after I've upgraded to nis-2.20-1 this freezes on "Updating passwd.byname..." - I have to interrupt by hitting ^C. I can't reproduce this. What version of libc5 are you using? All of them upto and including 5.4.23-3 have serious NIS problems.
