Package: xbase Version: 3.1.2-4 I have setup xdm not to start an X server, and when I say "X -indirect localhost", I get the chooser window with a list of hosts on the network. (Chooser is broadcasting.) If I selected any other machine on the network, it pauses for a few seconds, and then returns to the chooser. If I select localhost or my machine name, it gives me a login window. "X -indirect mymachine" does work. My guess is that when xdm gets an indirect from localhost, and it wants to forward the request, it passes on 127.0.0.1 as the client address. +-----------------------------------------+----------------------+ | Neil Turton, Assistant computer officer | Snail Mail to: | | | Churchill college, | | e-mail: N.D.Turton@chu.cam.ac.uk | Cambridge.
