Subject: sendmail: Misleading prompt in sendmailconfig
To: submit@bugs.debian.org
X-Mailer: bug 2.94
Package: sendmail
Version: 8.8.5-1
sendmailconfig says:
Your `ail name' is the hostname portion of the address to be shown on
outgoing news and mail messages (following the username and @ sign). This
name will be used by other programs besides sendmail; it should be the
single,
canonical name from which mail will appear to originate.
This appears to be asking for the hostname, not the FQDN. For instance,
asking for dax instead of dax.cs.twsu.edu. It say FQDN or hostname + domain
name or some such prompt to make this more clear.
