Package: dpkg-dev
Version: 1.4.0.8
dpkg-source -x sees ghosts:
$dpkg-source -x /home/joost/debian/unstable/source/x11/xaw95_1.1-1.dsc
dpkg-source: extracting xaw95 in xaw95-1.1
dpkg-source: failure: remove patch backup file xaw95-1.1/Imakefile.dpkg-orig: No such file or directory
But the ghost (Imakefile.dpkg-orig) really doesn't exist:
$ tar -tvzf xaw95_1.1.orig.tar.gz|grep dpkg-orig
$ zgrep dpkg-orig xaw95_1.1-1.diff.gz
(both commands gave no output).
This didn't just fail with xaw95, but also with libg++ (and those are
just the two packages I tried).
I'll go off using tar+patch+mv.

As somebody already pointed out to me, this is a problem with patch.
Since it dosen't have long filename support thanks to a slightly
messed up build, it uses a different extension, which dpkg-source
dosen't know about.
I'll reassign this to "patch".

This is a bug in patch caused by a bug in GNU autoconf. See my recent
