If I use a version of ssh I downloaded an compiled myself (on solaris, if anyone cares), it identifies itself as ssh version 1.2.17, protocol version 1.5. However, it identifies the debian ssh implementation as ssh version 1.2.16, protocol version 1.4. There's a chance this is a dpkg problem instead of an ssh problem. If so, the problem is much more serious. [At the moment, it is an inconvenience, in that authentication agent forwarding is turned off even when I'd prefer it remain on.] -- Raul
